In November 2024, heritage Philadelphia Radio station 93.3 WMMR-FM proudly began the 26th Annual Preston & Steve’s Camp Out For Hunger, benefiting Philabundance. Morning hosts Preston Elliot and Steve Morrison camped out in the parking lot of Xfinity Live, located in the Wells Fargo Center Sports Complex in South Philadelphia encouraging listeners and businesses across the tri-state area to come visit them and donate to the cause.
Dozens of local and national celebrities, performers, and athletes are on hand lent their support and thousands of listeners came to the event to contribute and have a great time! The duo started the Campout for Hunger in 1998 while at former modern rock “Y-100” WPLY Philadelphia, with a goal of collecting one ton of food that year, which they did. In 2022, the event raised over 2.8 million pounds of food and over $1 million in monetary donations. It is the largest single food drive in the country and stocks the warehouses, pantries, and community food banks that feed over 90,000 people every week in the greater Philadelphia area.
Regency Furniture was the exclusive Furniture retailer for the Green Room, where all broadcasting and celebrity interviews will take place and donated $5,000 to this worthy cause.
